Firefly Coffee on the Way!!

Saturday, August 20th, 2011

With great online reviews from New York to New Mexico, people already know about the Firefly Coffee House at 3523 North Anthony Blvd.  So should you.  The coffee is as good as it’s ever been, and we’re glad to see their standards haven’t changed in the 12 years they’ve been around — they’re as high as ever.  Firefly proudly brews Fort Wayne’s ‘Crazy Sisters’ coffee beans and uses Ghirardelli chocolate and caramel to enhance the already great flavors of coffee. fireflyFavorites include the Zebra Mocha - espresso, Ghirardelli milk or dark chocolate & white chocolate, steamed milk & homemade whipped cream, and the Turtle Latte - espresso, Ghirardelli caramel & chocolate, butter pecan syrup, steamed milk & homemade whipped cream.  Also, they’ve introduced 6 new wraps - BLT & Egg Salad, Thai Peanut, Greek, Chipotle Ranch, Crunchy Asian, Cobb Salad - 5 of which can be made into a salad upon request, all of which can be made with grilled chicken or turkey.  And for you smoothie fans out there, yup, they’re still using a half pound of fresh frozen fruit, apple juice, and live culture yogurt.  We can’t deliver all of their great atmosphere, but call 442-3663 and Firefly Coffee House is at YOUR house.

Fazoli’s: Kid Friendly at Parent Friendly Prices!

Monday, August 15th, 2011

We all know Fazoli’s has great breadsticks (Can you smell the warm, buttery goodness?), but did you know they have a great kid’s menu, to boot?

pasta

According to their Web site, in 2009 Parent’s Magazine recognized Fazoli’s as one of the 10 best menus for kids out of all fast casual restaurants. Our choices for kids might seem indulgent with items like fettuccine alfredo, meat lasagna, and cheese pizza, but they only contain 260 to 350 calories and 2 to 14 grams of fat; the right amount for young children.

An added perk: check out your local Fazoli’s to find out if they offer Kid’s Night, a fun night of activities with special deals for kids.

Consumers Rank Favorite Restaurant Chains

Saturday, August 6th, 2011
The nation’s most popular casual-dining chains — including The Cheesecake Factory, which was the runaway favorite in a recent customer survey — will stand to benefit from more optimistic consumer sentiment if they focus on the experience provided, convenience and food quality.

According to a Market Force survey, a customer experience management firm based in Boulder, Colo., one in four consumers plans to eat out more in the coming months and they are driven to brands showcasing strong customer service elements. The survey, which was conducted in May and June and is based on results from 5,000 of the firm’s 300,000 independent mystery shoppers, found that 8 percent of respondents said they planned to cut back on restaurant spending. Just six months ago, a similar survey from the same firm found that half of the respondents said they would eat out less.

As consumers plan to eat out more, the way to entice guests is to take care of the essential customer service elements, Market Force said. Of the consumers polled in the latest survey, 52 percent said they eat at casual- or family-dining restaurants just to have time with family and friends, and 37 percent cited celebrating special occasions as a reason to visit.

Convenience also plays into dining decisions, as 41 percent of respondents said they eat at casual and family chains when they are too tired to cook, and 23 percent said they go when they’re pressed for time. But 38 percent said a key reason for dining out is because they want a great-tasting meal, meaning food quality can’t be ignored, Market Force said.

64-Cent Sandwich on Saturday

Wednesday, July 20th, 2011
Arby’s Restaurant Group Inc. is celebrating its 47th anniversary Saturday with a promotion of its signature Classic Roast Beef sandwich that will cost only 64 cents, to match the year of the chain’s birth in 1964.  But the deal is not without a catch — Arby’s customers must purchase a 22-ounce $1.59 drink and show a required coupon that’s only accessible by “liking” the brand on its Facebook page. The 64-cent offer is valid only on Saturday during regular business hours at participating locations. There is a limit of one coupon per transaction and the deal is not valid with any other coupon or offer.arbys-classic-roast-beef

The promotion for the 64-cent roast beef sandwich, which usually sells for $2.79 to $2.99, is not about building new traffic, said Bob Kraut, Arby’s senior vice president of advertising and marketing communications.  Instead, Kraut said it was an attempt to make Arby’s current Facebook user base of more than 590,000 fans more active with the brand online.  “It’s not an all-channels promotion. It’s targeted to the Facebook fans. This is more of an offer for people who follow the brand,” Kraut said. “We have had an active effort to build fans on Facebook. The social media is used by the younger people, and that’s important to us.”
