3 reasons to juice

March 4th, 2013

Many people have turned to juicing as a rejection of processed foods found in the American diet. That’s because cooking and processing food destroys these micronutrients by altering their shape and chemical composition. Still, most nutritionists agree we need 6-8 servings of vegetables and fruits per day. But  few of us actually get that. Juicing is an easy way to virtually guarantee that you will reach your daily target for vegetables.

juicer

Here are a few reasons to juice:

1. Juicing helps you absorb all the nutrients from the vegetables: This is important because most of us have impaired digestion due to our poor food choices. This limits your body’s ability to absorb all the nutrients from the vegetables. Juicing will help to “pre-digest” them for you, so you can get the most of of your food.

2. Juicing allows you to get more nutrients in less time: Some people may find eating that many vegetables difficult, but it can be easily accomplished with a quick glass of vegetable juice.

3. Juicing encourages variety: Many people eat the same veggies, found in their salads.  But with juicing, you can juice a wide variety of vegetables that you may not normally enjoy eating whole.

You have some initial reservations, in terms of the time commitment. But most people find the benefit outweigh the investment. If you’ve tried juicing what tips do you have?

Think WOTW gift cards for all of life’s occassions

February 4th, 2013

Gift cards are a great way to show you care.  And an even better idea is a Waiter on the Way gift card. WOTW gift cards spend like cash, and are a great solution for any gift-giving  occasion. Here are a few ideas:

  • A friend or relative has a baby: The weeks after bringing a new baby home can be hectic. Cooking is often the last thing on their minds. Make it easy on the new parents by sending them a WOTW  gift card. That way they can choose from 150+ local restaurant partners.
  • A friend or relative has surgery: Similar to the new baby situation, the person who has a surgery will need an extra hand. Send them a gift card to help the family get through a tough time.
  • Funeral: Mourning the loss of a family or friend is energy consuming. Let them know you’re thinking of them by sending a gift card.
  • Moving: Moving is a stressful process. Often times grocery shopping is the last priority. Help ease the burden with a gift card.

These are just a few of the most common life events.  Of course surprising someone with a WOTW gift card just because is never a bad idea.

So, what now?  The easiest way to purchase a gift certificate is to come into our office at 6205 Stony Creek Dr, Fort Wayne, IN 46825. If you are ordering a gift certificate for someone in Fort Wayne and you live out of town you may call the office and order the gift certificate over the phone with a credit card and we can mail it out to them. El Azteca means fresh, flavor

January 28th, 2013

Today we welcome restaurant partner El Azteca. It’s easy to see why El Azteca, located in the East State neighborhood, has been a staple of Fort Wayne dining since 1973.

For starters, they serve up quality and consistent dishes, fresh from their kitchen. And did we mention all of their sauces are home-made? The menu might seem overwhelming at first, but have no fear.  Look to a few of the regulars’ favorites, like nachos, Benji Burritos, Black Bean soup, and Fideo soup. The chronically undecided will appreciate the dinner combinations,  which allow you to pick from your favorite Mexican staples, like enchiladas, and burritos.
