Lunch Catering

Friday, July 10th, 2009

Want to save your work or company money this year?

Most companies if not all are trying to scale back on spending, cut costs, and even eliminate positions in order to stay competitive.  Today, I will talk about one way to scale back and help cut costs for a business meeting.

Often times, many professional transactions and business meetings may take place during lunch, where the two parties meet at a neutral location for discussions.  After generally a rather expensive lunch, soda or tea for everyone, and even possibly dessert, the  bills may be split up or the party offering the sale will tend to foot the bill.  Often times, you have probably thought, there should be a better way to conduct a meeting.

As always, you would be right!  Times have changed and with the economy as it is, we all want to cut costs, even if it means changing our ways of operating.  In stead of going out for a lunch meeting next time consider these valuable tips to make you reconsider your meeting location.

By having a meeting at your office, you can:

  1. Cut costs dramatically.
  2. Have easy access to your work area and files (Computer, Internet Connection, etc.)
  3. Order a lunch catering, and have it delivered to your office.
  4. Provide a more personable atmosphere with you and the client.
  5. Eliminate wasted time in travel.

Next time you have a business meeting, think about breaking the mold of having lunch out at a restaurant, and consider meeting your client at your own office or theirs.  By eliminating travel time, drinks, desserts, expensive elegant meals, and having access to your computer and Internet, you will become a more profitable individual with less downtime, and increased productivity.

Salvatoris Restaurant

Salvatori's Restaurant

Salvatori’s is the latest restaurant partner with Waiter on the Way.  Salvatori’s is located at 12244 McKenzie Drive, New Haven Indiana 46774.

About Salvatori’s:

“Salvatori’s was founded in 2006 by Sam and Angelina Leto.  They started the restaurant with a dream and a notebook of old family recipes.  In the mid 1960’s, Sam’s family opened the first Italian restaurant in Fort Wayne, Indiana - “Leto’s Pizza.”  Sam’s father, Salvatori, worked there as a teenager and learned all of the family recipes.  A generation later, Salvatori’s Pizzeria Primo is proud to offer “Authentic Italian - Taste the Difference!”"

Salvatori’s is a 4 star restaurant that specializes in delicious Italian entrees ranging from appetizers such as Bruschetta and Sausage, Chicken and Roasted Peppers, to a wide range of different pastas, pizzas, salads, and sandwiches.  All individual food items are reasonably priced and Salvatori’s also offers catering options of pasta and salad available in full or half pans.

I love everything about this place.  It has good sandwiches, wonderful pasta and solid pizza.

Graduation Party Catering

Graduation Cap and Diploma

Graduation Cap and Diploma

Graduation time is quickly drawing near here in the Summit City.  Spring is here and that means college courses are coming to an end in early May, with high schools and grade schools to follow. Whether you or someone you know will be hosting a graduation party this year, we want you to know we are here for you

In our recent post, Confirmation Catering, we talked about many key factors in planing your event as well as some of our suggestions to minimize your costs, so if you haven’t be sure to take a look at that article.

Graduation is not generally a big event for grade school, however for high school students it tends to be more emotional as students enter into the real world whether it be continuing their education, joining the military, or looking for work.  Waiter on the Way wants you to enjoy this time you have with your loved ones and keep the focus on them rather then any other obligations such as food catering.  Once the big graduation party day comes, it will feel like its over in a flash if you have to “work” the entire time keeping food available, drinks cold, and ensuring that everything is setup perfectly.  Whether your catering your own event or having someone else do it, here are a few pointers to keep in mind to ensure a great day.

  • Check out the weather to plan whether your graduation party will need to be inside or outside.
  • If your party will be inside, you may need to arrange your furniture to allow sufficient standing room and space for the food line
  • If your party will be outside, consider whether you want your food outside (or in a garage) that may get warm quickly, or if you want it in your house (but then guests will be in your house)
  • If you have a spacious yard, consider renting a tent, tables, and chairs to allow guests to enjoy a nice day outdoors
  • Consider setting up games to keep guests entertained such as volleyball, basketball, or a slide show of the graduate growing up

We hope these tips help you plan out your graduation catering, and if you need any help with your catering, please be sure to call Waiter on the Way at (260) 442-3663 or visit our website at http://www.waiterontheway.biz for any additional information you may need.

Confirmation Catering

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

It’s quickly becoming that time a year again, and now that spring is here school is starting to wrap up for kids and that means confirmation parties, graduation parties, and even going away to college or military parties.  This time of the year can be stressful enough helping kids get through the school year, getting them signed up for camps, Parks & Recreation sports, swim team, conditioning for football and anything else in between.  What better way to save you time and relieve some stress then by having Waiter on the Way deliver and setup any of your food and catering needs for parties of any size.

If your planing on taking care of your parties on your own, let us give you a few tips that may help out.  Depending on the type of party and date, it can be very common in the case on confirmation parties that many children will have them going on the same days, and at different times throughout the day.  What this means to you regarding your food situation is that, the timing of your party could have a big impact on how many guests will eat, and even how much.  More often then not, parents order way too much food for their child’s parting, thinking that everyone will be eating that stops by, however reality is that the immediate family is generally a for sure count, but once you get into other students family and so on that are also invited to other parties, only a small portion of them will eat.  Most likely adults will feel obligated to snack on some items or try a piece of cake, depending on the time of the day.

When deciding on food, think of things that are easy to prepare and also easy for your guests to serve themselves.  Very popular items that generally go over well at confirmation and graduation parties are meat and cheese trays that let your guests create their own sandwiches just how they want, and the best part is that it is cost effective for you!  Finger foods and appetizer type items also usually go over well because they are easy for your guests to grab one to try and keep moving through the food line.

Drinks are fairly straight forward, however certain beverage types are sure to save you big.  Generally cans of pop, bottles of water, a small assortment of alcoholic beverages, and coffee can be found at many confirmation and graduation parties.  If you want to look for something different, try some different types of teas, fruit juice blends, bulk juice containers, or even just fresh pitchers of water with lemon slices or wedges available.  You can buy gallons of flavored teas at your favorite store and they can go over well depending on your guests preference.  Fruit juice blends are generally more healthy then sodas, and look great with the rest of your buffet line.  By filling your own glass pitchers with water, you can keep refilling them throughout the party and save a decent amount of money rather than offering bottles of water which you will be picking up half drank ones once the party is over.

We hope we have given you some useful information with catering ideas for your confirmation party, and planted the seed to keep you focused that this time is coming soon.  If you want to save time, and not worry about any of the food or drinks, be sure to call Waiter on the Way at 260-442-FOOD or visit us online at http://www.waiterontheway.biz to view the menus of our restaurant partners.
